Victor, named for Salish Chief Victor, is a historic town nestled in the scenic Bitterroot Valley. Founded in 1881 as “Garfield,” it became a bustling depot when the railroad arrived in 1887, connecting the town to mining operations and agriculture throughout the valley. Today, Victor is a quieter community along the Bitterroot Trail.

Visit the Victor Heritage Museum, housed in the old railroad depot, where exhibits showcase the town’s mining, railroad, and Native American history. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy fishing along the Bitterroot River or exploring the expansive Bitterroot National Forest, which rises in dramatic fashion on both sides of the valley.

Need a bite to eat? Stop by Cowboy Troy’s for live music and a relaxed outdoor patio, or head to Victor Steakhouse and Lounge for a hearty dinner after a day of riding along the Bitterroot Trail.

Next stop, Corvallis...
